The Maarja experience: The environment here really supports you to achieve your goals!

Uncategorized

Hello, Maarja! Please introduce yourself.

I work in the public sector as a project manager. I lead environmental development projects in different counties. I’m from Pärnu, I used to live and work in Tallinn, but at one point I decided to return to my hometown. Fortunately, the projects I manage don’t require me to be on the ground on a daily basis, and so I have been able to continue my job remotely.

Why come to live and work in Pärnu?

Pärnu is a small town, but everything I need is here – close to the sea, the old town, where to go for walks and cafés. Pärnu is also a thriving city where many young people have returned to do something exciting for the community. One such good example is WorkVibe.

Did you consider other options, such as working from home or a traditional office, and why did you choose a shared office?

Yes, I considered and tried both options. At first I tried working from home, but it didn’t work. Our home is quite small, and working there with children around was almost impossible. I wanted a clear boundary between work and personal life, so I decided to move my work outside the home. Working alone never felt right to me, so a shared office turned out to be the perfect fit — and I haven’t looked back since.

Why did you choose WorkVibe?

I was charmed by the atmosphere here – cosy and quiet, tastefully decorated rooms and everything you need at hand. I’m particularly attracted by the fact that the office is located in a historic building, but at the same time the stylish modern interior design elements and smart solutions stand out. A walk through the old town to the office is also a treat in itself.

What do you like most about WorkVibe?

The space is filled with lots of greenery, the space feels cosy and calm, but there’s always someone to talk to or share a lunch with.

How has working in a shared office affected your work-life balance and productivity?

Working at WorkVibe has definitely had a positive impact on both my professional and personal life. At home, the boundary between work and personal time tended to blur – I was at work from morning till late at night, while at the same time I had to deal with personal issues during the working day. Now there is a clearer boundary between private and professional life. But I also like the fact that working in a shared office doesn’t have strict limits – I can come to the office whenever I want. Sometimes I work from home, sometimes in the office, and it’s this flexibility that creates a nice flow. Thanks to flexibility, I am much more productive, motivated and get more done during the day.

Of course, every company has something that needs to improve. What is one thing about WorkVibe that could work better?

In general, everything works well, there is nothing special to point out. But if anything, booking a meeting room could be easier.

Has working in WorkVibes helped you create new contacts and acquaintances?

Yes, it certainly has. I’ve met people from different backgrounds here, and through those interactions I’ve gained new insights.

What would you recommend to those considering joining a shared office or looking for a workspace?

There’s no need to be hesitant about joining a shared office — the environment here truly supports you in reaching your professional goals.

The Birgit experience: A threefold increase in productivity!

Experience Story

Hello, Birgit! What is your job, how long have you been doing it and what do you like most about it?

I’m an accountant – I’ve been in the world of numbers and finance for nearly eight years in total, the last three of which I’ve been a direct accountant. What I like most about this job is the logic and the puzzling: every day is like a new puzzle to put together.

How long have you worked in a home office/remote work? What do you see as the biggest pros and cons of working from home?

I started working from home at the beginning of Covid. This was followed by having a baby and a change of residence, which is why I stayed at home to work for companies in Tallinn.
The pros are definitely flexibility and time savings, but the cons are that the boundaries between work and personal life tend to blur at home… the work computer on the kitchen table seems to call me back to work every spare moment.

Why did you decide you wanted to work in an office again?

Anyone with young children at home knows that working from home can be an almost impossible mission!

When both my children started kindergarten, I immediately took the opportunity to return to the office as I find it a much more productive environment. There are no domestic distractions in the office (no simultaneous laundry) and a clear separation between work and home life. In addition, working in an office helps you to “switch off” from work at home and it is much easier to really relax and spend time with your children.

“Having a work computer on the kitchen table is like calling back to work every spare moment!”

What’s your favourite part of WorkVibe?

First: the WorkVibe environment itself! It’s a cosy, bright and spacious office that helps you to concentrate and be productive. Flexibility is also a big plus, I can come and go as I need to. The location is also ideal: one of the most beautiful and historic streets in Pärnu, and all the best places for lunch within walking distance.

And of course… coffee! Absolutely!

How has working at WorkVibe affected your productivity?

Working with WorkVibe has increased my productivity at least threefold! The environment is conducive to concentration and efficient working, but also offers inspiring interaction with others who share a similar lifestyle and mindset. There’s a nice balance between independent work and a sense of community: just what I need!
